where the heart is and my ragdoll girls, Minnie and Odette, enjoy
being a part of the musical journey for students from ages 6 to
retirees. Their kitten antics and moral support bring a vivaciousness while

Dr. Natasha Bekker is passionate about music and medicine. As a distinguished performer, she debuted at Carnegie Hall at the age of 13, sang at the Vatican the following year, and has been performing ever since. Dr. Bekker has been on ESPN singing the national anthem and has performed in operas such as Les Dialogues des Carmélites, L’incoronazione di Poppea and Gianni Schicchi. In addition, Dr. Bekker continues to sing professionally in the DFW area.
Dr. Bekker pursued a Bachelor of Music from the Aaron Copland School of Music in New York City and transferred to the University of North Texas to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She continued her studies at the University of North Texas receiving a Master of Music in Vocal Performance (2021) and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance with a related field in Performing Arts Health (2025).
Ms. Bekker was appointed a teaching fellowship in voice at the University of North Texas from 2021-2024 serving undergraduate and graduate students. She has been on the faculty at Texas Woman's University since 2024 and enjoys a private studio in-person and online with local and international students from China all the way to Norway.
Her passion in helping others and seeing the great need for doctors during the pandemic has propelled her towards pre-medical studies in becoming a doctor. She hopes to serve musicians in the future as both an educator and medical professional.
